An exciting opportunity has
arisen for an Dermatology nurse to join our friendly and driven
Paediatric Dermatology Clinical Nurse Specialist Team .
We are looking for a
dynamic and committed nurse, who has a strong background or willing to learn in
Dermatology and is flexible, ambitious, and proactive and has the ability to
communicate effectively.
Currently we see patients
with eczema and other inflammatory skin diseases and acne
The Paediatric Clinical
Nurse Specialist will run various clinics throughout the week seeing patients
with Severe Eczema, acne and General dermatology patients and patients on
systemic treatments and biologics.
With
the support from the multidisciplinary team to work towards becoming an
autonomous clinical expert is assessing, planning and implementing, topical,
systemic and biologic treatment ensuring any patient information and treatment
provided is current and evidence based.
Main duties of the job

The post holder with share
deputising responsibilities with other band 6s for the dermatology nurse

advise on physiological and psychological symptom to minimise patient and carer
anxiety.
Plans provision of care for

to patients/clients/carers in relation programmes of care which may be complex.
Provides sensitive
information to patients, where there may be barriers to understanding

clinics and accept referrals in the community service for new patients with an
agreed diagnosis, devise a treatment plan and plan future review/ discharge as
appropriate.
To review follow up
patients in the secondary care setting and devise a treatment plan and plan
future review/ discharge as appropriate.
To prescribe and monitor
medication as an independent nurse prescriber
To be aware of and
undertake responsibilities with regard to child protection procedure both
locally and nationally, liaising with the multidisciplinary team, and working
within the philosophy that the needs of the child are paramount.
To manage own work load,
with the nurse led paediatric clinics.
To develop and maintain
nurse led services within dermatology, writing/protocols to meet the need of
this patients population.
