Darlington
Community Therapy Team are looking to recruit a Therapy Assistant to support
community therapies. The role will be
working under the direction of qualified therapy staff, across the areas
of physiotherapy and Occupational
therapy in the main but the ability to adapt and be flexible is essential. The
therapy team over see a comprehensive portfolio of rehabilitation and case
management in patients own homes, in care home settings and within clinics. Please

Main duties of the job
You
will work as part of the team alongside the Therapists and Assistant
Practitioners within the Therapy team. You will follow a specific plan of care
implemented by the registered professional focusing on a strength based
approach to rehabilitation and sustained improvement following the completion
of a competency based training programme. You will work across Darlington and
the surroundings areas into patients own homes and care homes, including our
Intermediate Care rehabilitation beds. You will be required to carry out
administrative and housekeeping tasks to support the service and patient care.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
