Dermatology at CDDFT is undergoing a period of expansion and
transformation.
In a 3 phased approach across acute and community
workforces, the service is expanding its capacity to meet the needs of the
population and optimize quality of care for patients.
Our team delivers a full range of
Dermatology services across County Durham through the University Hospital North
Durham, Darlington Memorial Hospital and Bishop Aukland Hospital. We also
provide services at Sunderland Royal Hospital for the population of the South
Tyneside and Sunderland Region.
Main duties of the job
This role provides an opportunity
for an appropriately qualified individual to act as a Senior Clinician within
the Dermatology department. The postholder will provide advice and support to
more junior medical colleagues and the clinical MDT in matters related to
Dermatological conditions; escalating to a consultant when required.
As a Senior Clinician, it is expected you will
support the clinical MDT and management team in a wide variety of matters
related to the improvement of care quality and access within the service.
The post
holder will provide dermatological services and provide a comprehensive
clinical service in support of the consultant workforce, this includes:
Outpatient
consultations (In line with British Association of Dermatologist booking
standards)
Specialist
activites for the mutual benefit of the postholders development and departments
service delivery (This provides opportunity to explore specialist interests)
Acute
roster cover
Advice and guidance services

dermatology provision
Departmental
teaching - The postholder and their fellow senior medics will be collectively
support the development and supervision
of the more junior workforce
CPD The
postholder will be responsible for ensuring they meet national requirements
surrounding contemporary practice
MDT The
post holder will be responsible for working the wider MDT in clinical matters
to optimize patient outcomes of care
Audit and
governance activities - The postholder will participate in clinical governance
arrangements in line with national and local guideline
Patient
Experience The post holder will be expected to engage and support appropriate
resolutions to Patient Experience Matters in support of the respective leads of
