Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for a Trust Grade Specialist Doctor to join our expanding Sexual Health and HIV service. We welcome doctors who are enthusiastic about contributing to a dynamic multidisciplinary team and who bring a flexible skill mix to support both current clinical practices and the development of new services.

Main duties of the job

To carry out clinics in sexual health and HIV to diagnose, treat and manage a variety of sexual health conditions.

To advise and liaise with primary care in patients management as well as flexibility to travel as we operate on a multi-site service.

Have good verbal, written and electronic communication skills.

Be responsible for the day to day assessment and treatment of patients accessing the service within the University Hospital of North Durham, as well as other sites where required.

Participate in clinics with the assessment of both new and review patients.

To work as part of an integrated team working with other Sexual Health Doctors and specialist nurses and clinicians in delivering care to sexual health and HIV patients within the service. This post is aimed at Sexual Health Specialists who have an interest in HIV as its an element of our service where we are looking for a proactive skilled Sexual Health Specialist to assess and treat patients.

The base is UHND however we run our service across multiple sites so travel will be expected for this role.
