Main duties of the job
This post provides dietetic care as part of the community
dietetic care. The post holder will be responsible for managing their own
caseload and associated time management. It includes clinics (face to face and
telephone), nursing home visits and ward cover to community hospitals and
sub-acute hospital wards.
The community dietetic team provides cover to
the general adult population within county Durham and Darlington and covers
nursing home visits, domiciliary home visits, community training sessions,
community hospitals and GP and general outpatient clinic sessions. This post
will be based at Bishop Auckland Hospital but post holders may be required to
work county wide.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

diabetes, adult Home Enteral Feeding, paediatrics (incorporating Home Enteral
Feeding and paediatric weight management). the nutrition and dietetic service
comprises of 6 teams, with 44 Dietitians, 1 Specialist Nurse, 4 Dietetic
assistants and we are supported by central administration. We are based on 4
sites in the County, at Darlington Memorial Hospital, University Hospital North
Durham, Bishop Auckland Hospital and Shotley Bridge Hospital
