An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 7 Nurse
Practitioner to join our Medical Same Day Emergency Care team. SDEC is a
department whereby patients with some medical concerns can be assessed,
diagnosed and discharged safely in the same day. We require a committed and Advanced
Nurse Practitoner to support this service. The service is fast paced,
delivering high quality care to adult medical patients who have presented to
the hospital as an emergency or following GP review.
Your role will be to work alongside the medical team,
assessing, and implementing treatments from admission to discharge. You will be
expected to deal with staff, patients and relatives on a daily basis and the
successful applicant will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skill
both written and verbal and demonstrate excellent stakeholder relationships for
example ED. You will possess good
organisational skills and be able to contribute to the development of service
alongside the clinical lead and the senior nursing staff. If you are dynamic and clinically
accomplished in the skills needed in SDEC we would like to hear from you in
order that we can dvelop the service for the future.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced Nurse Practitioner, (ANP), will assess,
diagnose, treat and discharge adult patients ensuring appropriate advice,
health education and referral to appropriate community services.
The ANP
will provide clinical leadership and skills to ensure patient safety is
maintained within SDEC.
To ensure
a consistently high standard of nursing care is delivered and that evidence
practice is promoted within medical SDEC.
Work
collaboratively with the medical SDEC manager to facilitate the development of
the clinical skills of the nursing and medical team, contributing towards the
ongoing education and development needs of the unit.
Facilitate
the development of an integrated approach to the delivery of Acute Medicine and
Emergency Care within the department and organization.
Attend
departmental/care group meetings as appropriate to ensure an awareness of
developments within the department and wider organization.
Effectively
communicates with nursing, medical and allied health professionals both
internal and external to the department and the organization.
