Main duties of the job
This post is to provide dietetic care to acute inpatient wards within CDDFT. The
post holder will be based at University Hospital North Durham but will also be
required to cover wards at Bishop Auckland Hospital 2 - 3 days per week
(depending on demand). It also includes post-discharge telephone clinics.
The Nutrition and Dietetic service is split into speciality
teams; secondary care, bariatrics, primary care, adult and paediatric diabetes,
home enteral feeding, and paediatrics.
We have 8 Band 5 Dietitians, 32 Band 6 Dietitians and 9 Band 7
Dietitians. We are supported by Dietetic
assistants and Central Administration.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
