Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Health
Informatics team supporting the day to day activties as a Server Specialist, providing
system implementation, maintenance, monitoring and performance management of
Trust infrastructure to ensure optimum performance and availability.
The post holder will maintain the operational capability of
Trust IT infrastructure including physical and virtual server environments
together with providing BAU support for server applications in terms of third
level technician support and be willing to learn new and emerging technologies.
Liaising with other teams within the department as required
on technical issues, and with third party customer organisations.
Participate in the ICT on-call cover rotas as
necessary.
Main duties of the job
Implementation
and system management of IT Systems within the Trust
Support
the development of the Trusts strategic approach to IT infrastructure
Provide
and participate on 3rd line support cover for escalated IT support calls
Provide
hardware and software server support for Corporate/Business and Clinical IT
systems
Implementation
and ongoing development of the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.
Act as an
interface between Infrastructure Support Team to diagnose and aid the resolution
Management
and support of disaster recovery and backup management procedures
Ensure
security patches and updates are installed across the IT Estate
Monitoring
of computer room and data centre facilities
Technical
project management and implementation of IT systems
Provide
expert professional and technical advice and consultancy
Ensure
that server hardware, operating systems and applications are repaired in a suitable
timescale and to a satisfactory standard.
Participate
in the out of hours oncall rota.
