County Durham and Darlington are in the exciting position to
recruit to a Deputy of Head of Midwifery position. This role will compliment
the existing senior perinatal leadership team and together we will lead,
manage, support and drive high standards of maternity care.
The service has built on the maternity standards of care
provided to our local women, birthing people and their families. We deliver
care with a fully established midwifery workforce and a developing midwifery
support worker team and enthusastic medical collegues.
The team work within a perinatal model of care and recent
achievements have included launching BSOTs successfully across both acute sites.

Main duties of the job
The Deputy Head of Midwifery Role
is key to supporting the operational management of the maternity services
reporting into the Head of Midwifery and being professionally reportabler to
the Director of Midwifery.
The post holder will be an
enthusiastic, motived visble professional midwifery leader, supporting the Head
of Midwifery, Matrons and Clinical Leads to deliver high standards of clinical
care.
The Deputy Head of Midwifery will
support, embed and mangage performance targets including the operational
targets of effective rostering, recruitment and retention, resource management
and the assurance of high standards of clinical care through regular service
assurance and clinical audit.
The Deputy Head of Midwifery will
direct manage the matrons and specialist midwives.
