Job summary

CDDFT Podiatry Department are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Podiatrist to join our diverse team. The post is for 37.5 hours as a FCP within the Derwentside locality based at Consett Medical Practice.

Take a clinical lead role for a specialist area of podiatry work within all areas including high risk, diabetic foot, Biomechanics, MSK and general Assessments.

Provide professional leadership to the wider Team and act as an expert practitioner resource, leading by example.

Employs specialist techniques and programmes of care in the treatment of patients

Provides specialist podiatry advice both within and externally to the Trust

Assesses and treats patients within the team caseload of patients with specialised care needs which includes adults and paediatrics, self-referrals from patients and referrals from other practitioners and disciplines

Undertake training of other staff and students

Lead by example on service transformation activity and maintain the Teams focus on continuous service improvement and value for money

To work across acute, community and primary health care sectors as part of a multidisciplinary team with direct input to patient care, often highly complex individual cases, and acting as a source of advice to medical colleagues, other health care professionals, patients and carers

To be responsible for the maintenance of appropriate documentation for patient records, reports, audits and Departmental standards

Provide clinical leadership for the team through the effective implementation of all organisational policies and procedures

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
