Main duties of the job
We are looking for a community based Maternity Support
Worker who is committed and passionate in providing care during a woman's
maternity journey in both home and hospital settings.
This important role will include caring for women, birthing
people and their families throughout the antenatal and postnatal period and
will include working alongside the midwifery team to provide education, support
and care to mums and babies in the community setting. Safety of our women and
babies is paramount, and so we are looking for caring, compassionate, and
enthusiastic staff members to join our Team.
As a member of the community team you will be
expected to work independently at times and will be required to travel around
the area to visit families in a range of settings

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
