Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for a receptionist to work within County Durham & Darlington Minor Injuries/Urgent Treatment Care Centre at Bishop Auckland
As a Receptionist you will be part of a team providing an efficient reception and administration service. As first point of contact you will need to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with staff and service users alike.
You will need a good knowledge of computer systems in particular SystmOne, and possess excellent organisational skills and be confident in completing both individual and team tasks. Duties will include a wide range of admin tasks and reception work.
Due to the nature of the work you will need to demonstrate a good understanding of confidentiality and a non-judgmental attitude is essential.
7 days a week 24 hours a day on a varied shift basis, weekends, days, evenings and nights. In addition you may be required to help cover in other UCCs across the County.
Main duties of the job
Responsible for the greeting of patients and visitors to the Department and all reception duties concerned eg filing / photocopying / e-mailing/scanning/booking transport.
Responsible for the timely and accurate management of patient information in the Department
Responsible for registering new patients on the SystmOne ensuring data is retrieved and recorded accurately
Booking of fracture clinic appointments
Support the organisation of home visits, ensuring clincal notes are ready for GP's
To receive and deal with telephone calls from patients, GP's, NHS 111 and other health professionals

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
