Job summary

INTERNAL ADVERT

More than Patient Flow

The Clinical Site Manager (CSM) role is not just about counting beds and moving patients. CSM have their finger on the pulse of all of comings and goings and essentially pull all the strands together to keep the hospital working and moving 24/ 7. CSMs respond to incidents, are experienced negotiators, have excellent problem solving skills and they get to know most people in the hospital, you name it, they work with them.

However, CSM is very small team, so we are looking to build up the resilience of the team by recruiting and training reserve staff who could cover CSM shifts on a bank shift..

Main duties of the job

The successful candidates will be able to pick up advertised bank shifts and will be :

Responsible for effective patient flow; both unscheduled and scheduled admissions.

Work in conjunction with the Emergency Department, Acute Assessment Units and other members of the Patient Flow Team to ensure national patient access standards are met within a quality framework

To monitor the trigger factors associated with and when necessary implement the trusts Bed Escalation Framework in order to minimise bed crises through effective planning.

Responsibility for the out of hours operational management of the Trust site, implementing policies and procedures as required and providing leadership and support to Trust employees.

To provide senior nursing support and professional and clinical advice to all areas within the site out of hours.

Team members work over the 7 days and night duties working 3 long shifts per week, including bank holidays and positions are available at both sites.
