Job summary
This
is an an exciting opportunity in Central Appointments for a permanent post as
the Central Appointments Endoscopy Co-ordinator. You will be responsible for
overseeing all aspects of the Endoscopy Routine and USC Teams, including annual
leave, HR processes, SOPs and breach management. You will liaise with the
Endoscopy Service including General Managers and Clinicians to ensure the
smooth running of the Endoscopy Booking across the Trust and will require the
successful candidate to have excellent communication and negotiation skills,
ability to manage multiple complex workflows.
You will be based at The
Greenhouse, Stanley, Co. Durham but will also be expected to work from
Darlington Memorial Hospital on a minimum one day per week.
The
role allows for hybrid working and will also monitor and oversee the agile
working of the booking team.
Main duties of the job
The
main role of the Endoscopy Co-ordinator will be to support the Endoscopy
Booking Team who book both USC and routine appointments. This will include
managing annual leave/sickness absence, rota, HR issues, workload management,
team meetings, SOP monitoring and updating, monitoring breaches and liaising
with Management/Endoscopy Service to prevent these where possible. You will
assist the team in maximising procedure list capacity usage.
You will work with the
booking team to ensure co-ordinated working patterns are implemented to
maximise working efficiency. The aim is to ensure all work tasks are covered,
particularly during times of annual leave or sickness.
You will act as liaison
between the team and the Endoscopy Service to raise queries and highlight
issues. You will be expected to actively participate in weekly Endoscopy service
meetings.
It

Team. Ensuring that staff inputting data to EPR have received adequate training
and that the mechanisms are in place to check data quality.
Ensuring that the quality
of data held on EPR is validated on a regular basis.
Maintenance of personal
files including holiday rotas and recording and monitoring staff sickness.

waiting list reports on a weekly basis to ensure that patients are being booked
appropriately to the Trusts waiting time objective, within identified
timescales and identify any potential breaches to the General Service Managers,

Update procedures to ensure
inpatient endoscopy waiting lists are managed effectively in accordance with
latest guidance.
Ensuring all policies,
procedures and standards for the Central Appointments Endoscopy Team are
adhered to and updated on a regular basis.
Ensure endoscopy lists are
appropriately, fully utilized and if unable to do so to report to Service
Manager, Central Appointments Manager and Patient Access Operational Manager.
Carry out audits to ensure
all policies and procedures are adhered to.
Ensure endoscopy waiting
list validation is carried out on an weekly basis.
Ensure patients are managed
in accordance with the Trusts Patient Access Policy.
Liaise closely with
patients by telephone and ensure that all patients are dealt with courteously
and promptly.
Ensure the stationery ordering
