The
Radiology Department seeks an enthusiastic nurse who is keen to develop their
career.
We offer a fast paced
primary imaging service to a busy Emergency Department as well as to local
GPs, wards and out-patients. We perform a high number of imaging examinations
in our innovative new theatres, including trauma, elective surgery and urology
as well as interventional work in fluoroscopy and CT.
We have heavily invested in
Radiology equipment across the trust with the latest diagnostic imaging
equipment allowing us to provide high quality care to all of our patients.
As
a Radiology Nurse working at CDDFT, the role will encompass a wide range of
examinations both diagnostic and theraputic in nature for our patients, and
will involve working within CT,
Ultrasound and Fluoroscopy.
Main duties of the job
Liase
with MDT's to organise interventional workloads within the departments
Pre-assess patients for to
ensure their safe care throughout interventional procedures
Assisting Consultant
Radiologists and Advanced Practitioners with Radiological procedures
Aftercare of the patients -
ensuring patients are safely handed over to appropriate departments and receive
the required observations pre & post procedure.
Ensure maintanance of stock
levels within the department
Monthly Checks of
departmental drugs & ensuring safe and secure storage - liasing with
pharmacy to ensure supplies
Daily crash trolley checks
& education surrounding the emergency equipment to the rest of the
Radiology team.
First point of contact for
assisting with any deteriorating patients within the department
Ensuring
the safety of patients within the department

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
