CDDFT Speech and Language Therapy is pleased to advertise a
permenant community post suitable for existing B5 and newly qualified
practitioners. This exciting post incorporates a community caseload of acquired
neurological patients in a range of settings including nursing homes,
residential homes, out-patient and patients own homes. This excellent development oppourtunity will
allow a practitioners to develop a broad range of skills and knowledge whilst
developing post-basic dysphagia skills alongside a nominated dysphagia
supervisor. The successful candidates will utilise their outstanding
organisation and communication skills to achieve best patient outcomes whilst
being well supported by a large adult Speech and Language Therapy team where
there are lots of oppourtunities for career progression.
Main duties of the job
The B5 Speech and Language Therapist will work as part of a
team in community to assess and rehabilitate a wide range of communication
disordered patients in a broad range of settings whilst being supported to
develop competencies in dysphagia.
The successful candidate will hold a degree in Speech and
Language Therapy and be registered with the Health Professionals Council.
The Speech and Language Therapy Service offers a supportive
team of experienced colleagues allowing ready-access to support which includes
weekly line management for the first 3 months, regular B5 buddy group support,
second opinions and on-going peer supervision to deliver evidence-based
practise assessment and therapy to ensure that N.Q.P.'s have an excellent start
to their SLT career or existing B5 staff develop to next stage of their career.
