Job summary

This is an opportunity to join our established adult inpatient physiotherpay team at Darlington Memorial hospital.

We are looking for applicants with knowledge and skills in acute inpatients, including cardiorespiratory management and rehabilitation.

This is an opportunity for a highly motivated and flexible individual to join the team. The successfu applicant will work as part of the inpatient team in specialitites of respiratory, acute medicine, Frailty orthopaedics and surgical.

The inpatient team provides physiotherapy to a diverse range of patients over a 7 day service framework and a respiratory on call service overnight.

We are also considering a Band 5 to Band 6 progression role depending on applicants experience.

Main duties of the job

Senior Inpatient physiotherapist.

The clinical caseload includes covering the acute medical wards, ITU and surgical, orthopaedics and frailty, in addition to physiotherapy support to A&E and paediatric ward as required.

The successful applicant will utilise their outstanding organisational and communication skills in order to support with timely discharge from the acute setting whilst achieving physiotherapy outcomes.

The successful applicant will be part of the acute adult physiotherpay team who support the Darlington respiratory on call service, including training and development.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

We support team members to undertake clinical educator training.
