A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced,
motivated and reliable individual on our Cardiology Ward as a Junior
Sister/Charge Nurse.
The Acute Cardiac Unit/ ward 11 cares for 25 patients with a wide range of Cardiac conditions such as Myocardial
Infarction, Heart Failure, Cardiac Arrhythmias, Heart valve disease, and
Endocarditis. Also patients with devices such as Pacemakers and ICDs.
We are looking for a compassionate, enthusiastic leader with
a positive can do attitude to join our well established and friendly team here
on the Acute Cardiac Unit/ ward 11.

excellent values and behaviours, inspiring others leading change and
implementing best practice
Main duties of the job
As the Cardiology Junior Sister/Charge Nurse you will be
expected to be an expert in all areas of General and Cardiac Nursing Care.
You will provide
daily clinical and managerial leadership to our Nursing team and in the Ward
Managers absence and support staff in the delivery of evidence based patient
centred care.
You will be responsible for ensuring all care is
delivered according to Trust policies and procedures. Utilising clinical audit,
research, supervision of practice and teaching, they will monitor and improve standards
of care by efficient and effective use of resources

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

deputising for the Ward Manager in her absence and supporting and developing

and enthusiastic, able to adapt quickly to changing needs of patients and the
ward, be flexible and hard-working, working autonomously as well as part of the
