appoint an enthusiastic health care assistants to join our team.
As a team we strive towards delivering a high
standard of care and this is reflected in the feedback we receive from the
patients and relatives who have had experience of being on our ward.

If you are new to care you must complete a care certificate when you
commence employment with CDDFT and be paid band 2 until completion. (we cannot
offer sponsorship for New to care applicants)
Main duties of the job
As a healthcare assistant on the ward you will be required
to assist the qualified staff in providing direct patient care. You must be
able to work effectively as part of a team as well as being able to use your
initiative when required. This role is shifting working, both days and nights
including weekends.
The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate
excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. You will possess good
organisational skills and be able to contribute to the development of flexible
working arrangements within the team.
Ward one is a rehabiltation ward that supports the needs of the patients ,
promoting independence is paramount in order to get the optimum outcome for the
patient and also specialise in palliative and end of life care.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
