The Research and Innovation Department are
looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to undertake the role of a
Research Data Assistant. We are a hugely
enthusiastic team with a thriving research portfolio of studies. Our work
ranges from small scale observational studies to large scale multinational
clinical trials within a wide range of conditions. Our team includes clinical
research nurses/practitioners, assistant clinical research practitioners, data
assistants and research facilitators. We are looking for a research data
assistant to join our team, working alongside the research delivery staff on
commercial and non-commercial studies.
Main duties of the job
The
successful applicant will be responsible for supporting research staff and will
also have responsibilities for data management and research administrative support,
as needed for all NIHR portfolio clinical trial activities in the LCRN
Network. The successful post holder will
have a strong data management background and a sound understanding, ideally
through direct experience, of clinical research logistics and management. They
will lead in coordinating the data collection and quality control processes,
fundamental in ensuring the integrity and quality of our research data and
outputs. This will involve design and implementation of procedures and
processes to guide the data collection and entry teams. Applicants should have excellent
organisational and communication skills and be computer literate. Attention to detail is essential. Full
training will be provided.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
