The Research and Innovation Department are looking for an
enthusiastic and motivated person to undertake the role of a Assistant Clinical
Research Practitioner. We are a hugely
enthusiastic team with a thriving research portfolio of studies. Our work
ranges from small scale observational studies to large scale multinational
clinical trials within a wide range of conditions. Our team includes Clinical
Research Nurses/Practitioners, Data Assistants and Research Facilitators. We
are looking for an Assistant Clinical Research Practitioner to join our team,
working alongside the research delivery staff on commercial and non-commercial
studies.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting
research staff on a number of clinical trials, in a patient facing role. They
will have responsibilities for data management and research admin support, as
needed for all NIHR portfolio clinical trial activities.
The successful post holder will be expected to help screen
for eligible patients, approach patients in a variety of clinical settings to
discuss clinical trials, receive consent for less complex trials, carry out
data collection and data entry onto research data bases, answer data queries
and ensure adequate site file maintenance, under the guidance of the Research
Nurses/ Practitioners.
The successful post holder will have a strong
data management background and a sound understanding, ideally through direct
experience, of clinical research logistics and management. They will lead in
coordinating the data collection and quality control processes, fundamental in
ensuring the integrity and quality of our research data and outputs. Applicants
should have excellent organisational and communication skills and be computer
literate. Attention to detail is
essential. Full training will be provided.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

- Awareness of the importance of the Data Protection Act and Confidentiality in Research and Healthcare
