Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for HCSW who are employees
of CDDFT and who already have a relevant nursing qualification but are not
registered with the NMC.
As you commence your preparation for your OSCE you will be
employed as a band 4 nurse. You will be committed to attend the 4 week OSCE
programme which is delivered by CDDFT OSCE team, this will prepare you with the
knowledge and skils and professional insight required to undertake the OSCE in
addition to the professional insight needed to become a registered nurse with
the trust.
Salary support for the duration of the course will be paid
at a band 4 (AFC), Once you have successfully completed the OSCE training and
have obtained your NMC PIN you will be paid as a Band 5 a staff nurse post within the trust.
You will have three attempts to pass the OSCE, if you are unsuccessful
you will return to your HCSW role within the trust and at your original
banding. If you are successful at passing the OSCE but cannot secure your NMC
PIN within 12 weeks from sitting the OSCE you will return to your HCSW within
the trust.
Main duties of the job
On completion of your OSCE and registered with the NMC the
candidate will
To work across professional and
organisational boundaries to develop seamless, integrated, multi-disciplinary
health care for patients with different conditions.
To assess patients needs and develop, implement and
evaluate programmes of care.
To organise the delivery of nursing care.
To be aware of, and communicate to team members, changes to
patient information and treatment plans, both verbally and in writing.
To assist the Ward Sister in setting, monitoring and
maintaining standards of care.
To participate in nursing audit and service improvement
activities
To provide advice and act as role model.
To supervise the work of nursing support staff, ensuring
tasks undertaken have been delegated appropriately.
To contribute to the day-to-day management of the
Directorate. Co-operating with colleagues to provide an appropriate level of
nursing service.
To participate in education and training of junior staff.
To involve patients/carers in the planning and delivery of
care.
To participate in clinical supervision.
Monitor, evaluate and
review the effects of treatment using agreed local guidelines
