Job summary
Our MSK Physiotherapy Service is looking for a highly
motivated and passionate Physiotherapy Assistant with the relevant skills to
join our friendly and supportive Outpatient Team at Sedgefield Community
Hospital.
We are looking for applicants with a keen interest in
supporting rehabilitation and enhancing patient care in an MSK outpatient
setting. This exciting opportunity will allow you to work with a diverse group
of patients with a variety of conditions, both as part of a team and also
independently. You will be able to provide skilled support work in delivering
rehabilitation to patients and be able to feedback or discuss with the team as
needed.
Main duties of the job
Your role will include assisting
patients to regain as much functional independence as possible through working
on a patient rehabilitation goal approach. The post holder will be able to use
skills to carry out simple assessments, follow pathways and deliver exercise
plans within the scope of the job role.
The role requires the successful
candidate to work as part of a team to manage a designated workload (within a
scope of practice), maintain appropriate records, and accept accountability and
responsibility for their own actions.
The role also includes working
with qualified physiotherapists to deliver rehabilitation in the gym
environment for Total Knee replacement groups, Escape Pain programme and other
lower limb sessions.
Duties will addionally invove:
To undertake administrative and
some house-keeping duties to support the Therapy Service.
To accept patients within a scope
of practice and carry own patient caseload
Deliver rehabilitation programmes
prescribed by qualified members of the team
Demonstrating to patients how to
use mobility aids
Contributing to the day to day
running of the department including cleaning equipment and daily checks.
