Job summary
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical
Coding Team Manager/ Auditor to join our team at County Durham & Darlington
NHS Foundation Trust, based at Darlington Memorial Hospital. We are looking for
an enthusiastic and motivated individual with excellent communication and
administration skills. You will be responsible for the daily management of the
Clinical Coding Team members comprising: Clinical Coding Officer Team
Leaders (ACC Coders), Clinical Coding
officers Higher level (Non ACC more than 2 years experience) and Clinical
Coding officers (non ACC less than 2 years experience). The successful
candidate will be expected to deliver a comprehensive clinical coding audit
programme with specialities including Orthopaedics, Plastics, Pain Relief,
rheumatology, Haematology, Oncology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics and Medicine.
Accredited Clinical Coders with 3
years coding experience post accreditation in line with NHS England who wish to
develop into a Clinical Coding Auditor/ Team Manager will be considered for the
post.
Hybrid office/remote working will considered
after completion of training
Main duties of the job
The
successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership, and
expertise to ensure the delivery of a high quality service in the management of
an efficient clinical coding audit and assurance service to the Trust. This
will include collaboration with both clinical and non-clinical colleagues to
identify areas of audit topics/issues. You will also manage the changing needs
of a Clinical Coding service, making contribution to the achievement of the
Clinical Coding Department's objectives

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
