Job summary
We are looking for a highly motivated midwife to join the Practice
Development Team within maternity services at CDDFT. This is an exciting post
that seeks a band 6 midwife with relevant post registration clinical
experience in a variety of clinical areas, with evidence of a teaching or
mentoring qualification or equivalent experience. This will be a mixed post
that focuses on the provision of educational, training and clinical support for
maternity staff to ensure high quality and safe maternity care to women,
birthing people and babies.
Main duties of the job
You will work as part of the
practice development team (PDT) supporting all maternity staff but in
particular NQMs and internationally educated midwives with their practice
through all areas of maternity services ensuring a smooth transition to Band 6.
* Support in practice, undertake preceptor/mentoring and
coaching duties, offer expert advice and continuous support in the clinical
areas.
* Facilitating and delivering the training strategy
including the Core Competancy Framework (CCF)
Facilitate/deliver workshops, educational sessions, in situ
simulations and other learning activities to all maternity staff and other
appropriate staff groups.
Work clinically across the maternity services to advance
clinical midwifery standards.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
