Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity to jointhe Orthotic Services Department which is a unique small established team of 7 Trust employed staff plus 5 Orthotists providing a service to the people of County Durham. The service is led by the Orthotics Manager and is part of Community Services . We are looking to recruit 2 part time Administration Assistants to join our happy team.

The role is to provide administration support to the busy team and involves patient contact. There are 2 vacancies one at Sedgefield Community Hospital and one at University Hospital of Durham The successful applicant would need to be flexible as they may be expected to work at either site when required.

You will be expected to hold the relevant experience as specified in the person specification and be able to work alongside the team to provide a positive outcome for our patients. In return

Main duties of the job

This role includes -

Dealing with daily deliveries.

Placing Orders on Hospital Ordering System - Cardea

Opening referrals and registering on the Orthotic Computer system

Preparing clinics

Data inputting

Answering the telephone and dealing with queries arising,

Covering Orthotic Officer at Shotley Bridge Hospital and Chester Le Steet Hospital when absent

Working at any other Trust site when required

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
