Job summary

This post is a new role to support the Director of Quality and Deputy Director of Nursing.

This is secondment opportunity for 12 months will provide leadership, direction and support to a small team to drive the safe staffing and practice education agenda.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work within the corporate nursing team and will report directly to the Director of Quality & Deputy Director of nursing. They must be an NMC registrant and have experience in supporting establishment setting, working with clinical teams to analyse and synthesize complex data in regards to safe staffing. The postholder will be required to work in collaboration with external stakeholders including higher education institutions, HEE and NHSE.

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

  • Knowledge of performance management and monitoring services within a service area
  • Ability to evidence analysis of complex issues at a level broadly equivalent to Master degree academic study'
  • Able to demonstrate experience of budget management as knowledge of financial systems and procedures
  • Understanding and experience of undertaking of business planning at a service level
  • Evidence of continuous education and training
  • Demonstrable breadth and depth of understanding of acute operational issues in the NHS
  • Understanding of local and national digital strategy.
  • Proven ability to obtain and consistently achieve results and targets at a service level
  • Ability to write, analyse and present reports to a wide audience as well as making recommendations
  • Ability to analyse and then make judgements on a wide range of general management subjects (Quality /HR /Finance and Environment)
