The
maternity team at CDDFT are searching for committed, dynamic and enthusiastic
midwives to join our team working on our maternity units at both our Darlington
and Durham sites. We want you to be here, helping to shape our vision for an
outstanding service that gives our women, families, our communities and our
midwives an extraordinary experience.
You will join a warm and
supportive team of midwives who truly care about patient experience.
We welcome applications
from experienced band 6 midwives who are currently regisitered to work in the
UK. We are also eager to hear from band 5 midwives who are completing their
preceptorship and planning their future careers.
We are currently seeking
midwives who are enthusiastic and committed to working in collaboration with
women, their families and multi-disciplinary teams, supporting personalised
choice and promoting exemplary care in line with national transformation
ambitions and local Trust Values.

Main duties of the job
There is significant emphasis on
multi-disciplinary working and the ability to work as an individual as well as
a team member is essential. You will be responsible for the planning,
implementation and evaluation of individualised care plans which ensure
delivery of holistic, research based care, prioritising commuication, informed
consent and relationship building. You will work closely with our
multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
Some of your daily duties
will be:
Assessing and advising on
the needs of women, birthing people, partners, families, and carers and
providing emotional support during all stages of pregnancy and postnatal care
Planning, delivering and
evaluating standards of evidence-based midwifery care
Identifying and caring
for women with more complex pregnancies
Providing interventions
and key messages around Public Health including infant feeding
Recognising deterioration
in the in the physical or mental condition of a patient and taking appropriate
action/ escalation and managing emergencies.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

apply to join our midwifery teams to help us in delivering outstanfing
intrapartum, antenatal and postnatal care to women and birthing people using
our service. We are looking for experienced Midwives who are currently
registered to practice within the UK and are interested in joining our teams
across our acute units. The role is primarily based within the labour ward but
we also offer rotation to the antenatal and postnatal ward settings and we are very
keen to hear from midwives confident working in the assessment unit and triage
