Job summary
The Systems and Delivery team, a function of the Health Informatics directorate, wishes to recruit a Systems Manager for a portfolio of systems as determined by the Systems Support Manager, and to support departmental based system managers for a range of other clinical and departmental systems. This will include either directly or through staff. Support the Systems Support Manager in managing contracts with system suppliers. Specify, design, write and support solutions for operational clinical departmental systems as required and meeting Trust standards and using appropriate system analysis and software engineering methodologies.
Ideal candidates will be educated to degree level (or similar) in Systems Analysis and Design, Computer Science or a related subject with solid experience within an IT department of software engineering (analysis and programming) and systems support. Candidates should be customer/patient focused with a drive to improve lives, driven, possess strong communication, management and organisational skills, a demonstrable analytical ability with attention to detail and a strong commitment to continual improvement in all areas
Main duties of the job
The post holder is a senior IM&T support and development analyst with software engineering skills who jointly leads a support team.
To develop the Trusts systems in line with the needs of the Trust and where necessary engineering bespoke solutions.
To manage, or technically support the management of, and act as a focal point for a portfolio of systems as determined by the Systems Support Manager, ensuring their continued availability, advising on complex issues and influencing their use and the quality of data held on them in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
The post holder is expected to act autonomously and proactively with minimum supervision.
The post holder is expected to influence decision-making within divisions and corporate departments.
The role is critical for the Trust in ensuring proper running of the Trusts systems.
The role is critical in ensuring information is available for the information department to report on the Trusts activity targets, if necessary adapting systems to meet specifications.
The post holder has line management responsibilities.
The systems have users throughout the Trust on all sites.

We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
