Job summary
This
exciting role encompasses a variety of challenges for the postholder to support
high quality digital technology support for a range of applications both within
the simulation centre and broadly across the Medical Education Team cross site.
The role is not limited to this and
encompasses a broad range of activities which aid in the provision of high
quality simulation both within the simulation centre and across clinical areas with
defined areas of responsibility
Main duties of the job
Working
as part of a closely knit team they will be responsible for the supporting of
digital technologies for service users as well as simulation staff and
participants in line with the Trust's Information Governance principles. This
includes the management of audio visual technologies, internet and intranet
resources, remote learning, social media applications and more
They
will also take the lead in technical support for clinical based simulation and
also serve to provide basic technical support and trouble shooting for the
simulation centre when the simulation technician is unavailable
One
of the areas you will need to excel in is the ability to troubleshoot
difficulties which occur during learning events with competence and diligence
to ensure that learning activities are not compromised

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.

Medical

induction. You may be expected to provide digital support in the provision of this
and other medical education teaching and activities and programmes. This
includes the facilitation and evaluation of quality innovative digital
technologies designed to educationally support Foundation Doctors and Specialty
Trainees
The post holder will work
closely with the Clinical Simulation Centre team, particularly working as part
of the technical faculty, providing and support digital innovation. in
particular we expect the post holder will blaze the trail for the use of electronic
patient records in simulation. they will also be expected to lead in the provision
of in-situ technical support whilst simultaneously making recommendations for
improvements and customer satisfaction. This
may include training and support for service users and faculty
Digital resources will be
diverse and the post holder will be expected to support the provision of
digital resources across the Darlington, Durham and Bishop Auckland Education
Centres. This includes but is not limited to survey tools, social media,
conferencing facilities, live video chat, web conferencing and other
technologies as required
To communicate effectively
and professionally as part of a wider team in medical education. This requires
communication skills including e-mail, telephone and collaborative technologies.
Information governance
should be always the main concern for the post holder in line with Trust
policies. They should ensure an operational awareness of secuty measures and
confidentiality around file access and the implications of consent for the use
of recordings at all times
They will work closely in
conjunction with the Clinical Simulation Technical Officer to ensure resources
are well controlled and carefully maintained. This may from time to time
require upgrading or replacement. Therefore, they will be involved in recommending
new and replacement kit, as well as seeking quotes as well as ordering

will support the simulation technician with the delivery of simulation within
the centre and offer temporary support cover when the technician is absent.
This will require competence in the ability to set up, run and trouble shoot
the main technical modalities used within the centre.
