An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to support a key project for our Pathology services. County Durham and Darlington Pathology service is part of a regional procurement and installation of a new Laboratory Information Management System. We are looking for an experienced communications officer with excellent organisational and communication skills to support the sharing of information to stakeholders on the development and implementation of this exciting project.

The successful candidate will work as an integral part of the LIMS project team to ensure smooth, efficient running of the project. You will provide key communications to a range of people across 5 organisations involved in this project. You will provide information to other healthcare professionals on request. These activities involve frequent, daily utilization of Microsoft Office programs, face to face and Teams meetings and a the use of a range of communications media

The post holder will also deal with telephone and email from other stakeholders in relation to the project

Main duties of the job

Attend meetings to advise leaders, managers, and teams to the best use of various media disciplines and approaches within a fast-paced, high tech, health care environment

Act as a reference point for Communication queries and information and an advocate for best practices in the media field

Maintain processes to ensure project management documentation, reports and plans are relevant, accurate and complete

Complete data collation to track and report on performance, providing a real-time, comprehensive, and prioritized view of all activities

Analysis of data with regard to multiple areas of the project to highlight areas of concern which require escalation within the programme.

Develop positive relationships with managers and staff across the Path 5 trusts to enable the Central Team to provide support including facilitation, tracking and reporting on projects and training

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Foundation level qualifications in industry standards, including PRINCE2 and MSP

Experience

  • Experience of working with staff on many levels
  • Experienced user of MS Project and MS Office toolset (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proven experience in providing support to internal stakeholders to achieve successful project outcomes

Desirable

  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Experience of working within a Programme environment within a Health Care setting

  • Good knowledge of Project and Programme management standards
