CDDFT Speech and Language Therapy is pleased to advertise a 1 year fixed post in communication, voice and
dysphagia in-patients and community post starting in September 2023. This
exciting post incorporates a community and in-patient caseload of acquired
neurological and voice disordered patients in a range of settings including in-patients,
nursing homes, residential homes, out-patient and patients own homes based at University
Hospital North Durham. This excellent development oppourtunity will allow further
skills escalation and development to specialise in a number of areas. The
successful candidates will utilise their outstanding organisation and
communication skills to achieve best patient outcomes whilst being well
supported by a large adult Speech and Language Therapy team where there are
lots of oppourtunities for career progression.
Main duties of the job
The Specialist Speech and Language Therapist will work as
part of a team in in-patient and community settings to assess and rehabilitate
a wide range of communication, voice and swallowing disordered patients in a
broad range of settings whilst being supported to develop their specialist
skills further.
The successful candidate will hold a degree in Speech and
Language Therapy and be registered with the Health Professionals Council as well
as holding a post-basic dysphagia qualification or equivalent.
