Job summary

The Clinical Performance Coordinator will support the Service Improvement coordinator and the general manager as well as the Urgent and Emergency Care group in performance improvement processes and operations. Key tasks include the development of patient pathways, operational management, standard operating procedures, and collation and analysis of key performance and quality information. Clinical Performance Coordinator will support in the Emergency Department ensuring it is working efficiently and has the system resilience to meet the Government's Quality Indicators and National Targets. Complete a daily validation process. The Clinical Performance Coordinator will be proactive in alerting Senior Clinical Staff to actual or potential increasing patient throughput in the departments and activate solutions to maintain required performance against National targets.

Main duties of the job

Supporting the team to comply with Trust escalation policies and operational guidance relating to patient placement and achievement of local and National performance targets

Ensure that the rules for recording patient waiting times within the Emergency Department are rigorously applied and that the opportunities to stop the clock are fully and appropriately utilised Responsible for full adherence to the individual patient escalation policy.

Provide information to the Emergency Department team regarding performance/ work load as requested.

Implement new policies as required and propose amendments to policies/service changes in order to improve the patient flows.Undertakes audits of various aspects of the service, the results of which may change operational procedures.

Provide a daily report distributed widely including to director level informing on the previous days performance.

Validation of all ED clinical indicators - including the monthly last call.

Management on a daily basis by 10.30 of the ED 4 hour delays including downloading and collating
