If so you could join our hard working team as a band 6 Specialist Radiographer. You will ideally have experience in all aspects of plain film radiography, theatre, fluoroscopy and CT. You will rotate throughout the main x-ray department and CT scanner providing a high standard of patient care and imaging. *Full training will be given*
It is possible that this job will also be offered as a 6/12 months link grade.
For anyone that meets set interview criteria but lacks enough experience will be given onsite training and band 6 induction with robust competencies to complete throughout 6-12 months.
Band 6 will be allocated once all criteria is achieved.
Main duties of the job
You will help provide a 24hr service in all aspects of plain film, fluoroscopy and CT imaging. You must be able to work night shifts and weekends as well as day time.
As a Specialist radiographer you are responsible for the planning and allocation of work in the specific area of the department assigned, to ensure the timely delivery of an effective service.
You will monitor and maintain standards of professional practice, supervise more junior staff, including radiography students, and deploy staff assuring standards are met. Provide leadership and direction to the team, acting as a role model and patient advocate. Assess, plan and make informed decisions on the required Imaging examinations providing advice and maintaining associated records.
The department has 3 digital general rooms plus fluoroscopy, interventional and CT scanning. We also provide a full range of ultrasound, MR and symptomatic breast work within the hospital site. The department supports career development with a variety of advanced practice roles including plain film reporting and fluoroscopy.
