The role of Colorectal Advanced Specialist Practitioner is a pioneering position that we are proud to support.

Main duties of the job

You will play a vital role in the multidisciplinary care of Colorectal patients, collaborating closely with medical colleagues to oversee both elective and emergency surgical cases, from pre-operative assessments to post-operative recovery.

This position calls for a high level of advanced clinical expertise, where you'll be entrusted with making critical decisions and applying your professional judgement to ensure the best patient outcomes. Your skills and knowledge will be showcased through a portfolio of evidence and clinical competence, complemented by an appropriate MSc qualification.

You will be instrumental in driving improvements to care standards, ensuring adherence to Colorectal guidelines through supervision, clinical audits, and evidence-based practices. As a key leader, you'll provide professional guidance to colleagues, nurturing a culture of excellence and supporting Physician Associates within the Colorectal service.

Your leadership will extend to championing the implementation of cutting-edge research, integrating new findings into practice and contributing to the growing body of evidence through research and audits. You'll also have a significant role in clinical governance, leading audits, attending strategic meetings, and participating in morbidity and mortality reviews to refine and elevate practice.
