An opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded ENT service at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, a specialist tertiary centre for a range of conditions including Head & Neck Cancer, Neurosurgery, Oncology, Vascular and Plastics, as well as being a Major Trauma Centre.
Services are provided across Royal Preston and Chorley District & General Hospital which is home to one of the first GIRFT accredited Elective Surgical Hubs in the country.

Main duties of the job
- Provide a comprehensive Otology Service in include implantable hearing devices (not cochlear implants)
- Working in close collaboration as a member of the Skull Base Team and ENT Team.
- To take active role in managing audio vestibular services to include balance and tinnitus.
- To work in close collaboration as a member of the skull base team and to provide neurosurgical input when required.
- Support the provision of an ENT service to the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
- Take an active role in the teaching and training of junior staff including Specialty Trainees and Foundation Doctors
- Assume a continuous commitment for the care of patients even if employed less than full-time and ensure that adequate arrangements are made for cover and off duty periods.
- Promote high professional standards of clinical care of patients.
- Develop close links with General Practitioners operating within this area.
- Exercise the freedom to develop specialist elements of the service to reflect perceived priorities and within specified resources.
- Undertake administrative duties involved with the care of his/her patients.
