We are looking for a pro-active Financial Advisor to support the Medicine division.Working with clinical leaders and service managers, we are looking for an individual with the drive to succeed and make a real difference to patients. This is a chance for you to utilise personal and professional skills to their full extent, in a challenging and fast-moving environment.
The role is responsible for supporting the Senior Finance Business Partner in the delivery of a financial advisory service to the Medicine Division and its Operational Business Units.You will drive the month end, budget monitoring and forecast processes, ensuring that the reported position is accurate and processes are robust. There will also be involvement in Business Cases, Efficiency / CIP schemes and working with the Division to understand and improve their Trading Accounts Reporting position. You will be required to present the financial position at Directorate meetings and to deputise for the Senior Finance Business Partner (SBP) at Operational Business meetings and Divisional meetings.
Please note, although this role is being advertised by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals Trust, it will transfer to OneLSC a Corporate Collaboration hosted by East Lancashire Hospitals Trust on 1.11.24. There are no plans to change the location of the role.
Main duties of the job
The role is responsible for supporting the Finance SBP in the delivery of a financial advisory service.You will drive the month end income reporting, budget monitoring and forecast processes, ensuring that the reported position is accurate and processes are robust.
There will also be involvement in Business Cases, Efficiency/CIP schemes and working with the Division to understand and improve their Trading Accounts Reporting position.
You will be required to present the financial position at Directorate meetings and to deputise for the SBP at Operational Business meetings and Divisional meetings.
You will be a CCAB or CIMA or qualified member, or alternatively an individual in the last stages of their professional qualification, and be able to demonstrate professional credibility within their field.
The post requires exceptional communication skills with both finance and non-finance staff, a flexible approach to work and significant experience of costing complex services. You will be a self-motivated Financial Advisor capable of working under pressure, prioritising to meet tight deadlines and multi-tasking. Strong IT skills are also a key requirement.
The department operates using an agile working policy. Our finance teams work mainly from home, and are based in the office for two days each week currently, were we maximise time for face-to-face meetings, 1:1's, objective reviews and appraisals.
