The main aim is to provide a comprehensive package of care to our spinal patients within Neurosurgery. You will be responsible for a defined caseload with the main responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and setting the standards by providing specialist care and advice to this specific patient group.
The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 8-4, there will be some out of hour's requirements to meet the demands of the service.
You will also provide strong leadership and direction to the MDT, monitoring and maintaining standards of care and professional practice to support day to day efficient running of the clinical service.
Main duties of the job
Your will include clinics, telephone reviews of patients, managing prescriptions, liaison with members of the Multi Disciplinary Team, administration, outpatients, contribution to patient education and ongoing service management. As part of the individual development of the role the trust will offer specialist training alongside specialist training from outside agencies to develop you to have the skills to act independently when providing care.
Your role contributes to the development of this speciality service ensuring that all episodes of care and aligned with the trusts values, nursing and midwifery professional framework as well as a cost effective use of resources.
