Job summary
An exciting opportunity has come up and we are looking for an enthusiastic Sister/Charge Nurse to join our dynamic team on the New Brindle Ward (Gastro Unit/ Elderly medicine) at Chorley Hospital. You will be supporting the ward manager to ensure the provision of excellent care and compassion for patients and visitors to the ward, you'll be responsible for ensuring the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to meet the personalised health and well being care needs of patients, whilst providing leadership and direction to the team.
Main duties of the job
To support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse, Ward Manager and/or Matron in ensuring the provision of excellent care with compassion for the patients, relatives and visitors who are cared for within the unit. You will be responsible for ensuring the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to meet the personalised health and wellbeing care needs of patients, in line with the Trust's Values & Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework.
You will provide strong leadership and direction to the team, monitoring and maintaining standards of care and professional practice to support day to day efficient running of the clinical area, service.
You will act as a strong role model and provide development, clinical supervision and advice for other staff and students to support them in reaching their full potential. You will ensure the productive operation of the ward environment through the maintenance of a safe, clean and organised environment.
You will act at all times in a manner that upholds the Trust's Values and the Nursing & Midwifery Professional Framework goals. To work as part of a team to ensure that patients and relatives receive excellent care with compassion.
