An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Simulation team for a Clinical Skills tutor, delivering sessions both in our purpose built simulation suites within Health Academy 2 and providing in situ simulation training in the clinical areas.
The successful candidate will provide both technical and educator support in the design, setup, delivery, and evaluation of simulation and Human Factors skills training courses related to the delivery of safe clinical skills for our patients.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and debrief skills enabling students and staff to develop in a supportive environment.
This individual must work well within a cohesive team. They should be committed to clinical excellence and have a flexible approach to working hours, being prepared to further develop their skills while working closely with the clinical education team
Main duties of the job
As a valued member of our team, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at enhancing the efficacy of our clinical skills training programs. This includes meticulously planning, developing, coordinating, and delivering simulated clinical skills training sessions under the guidance of our Team Leader.
Additionally, you will provide support during in-situ simulation sessions within clinical areas, ensuring seamless integration and maximum impact. Your adeptness in skilled debriefing will play a pivotal role in extracting meaningful insights and facilitating continuous improvement.
You will operate human patient simulator manikins from the control room, while also handling basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks as needed. Your will also be tasked with preparing simulated learning environments, whether by setting up high-fidelity manikins, configuring immersive suites, or offering support as a simulated patient within scenarios.
Furthermore, your commitment to excellence extends to supporting the resuscitation service, including the responsibility of carrying the cardiac arrest bleep when required.

Essential
- Registered Nurse /relevant AHP e.g ODP
- Willing to work towards a teaching qualification
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Willing to complete debrief training
Desirable
- Degree or working towards a PG degree in Nursing,/AHP health or related subject
- Teaching Qualification (7307/Certificate in Education/equivalent)
- Achievement of Essential of Acute Care/ Advance Nursing Skills course/Post Grad Acute Care Course e.g ALS/PLS/APLS/PHPLS
- Debrief trained

- Experienced senior band 6 with excellent clinical skills
- Current experience working in acute Care environment
