Embark on a thrilling journey with us! We're currently seeking a dynamic and passionate Specialist Nurse to join our esteemed TB Team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for an impactful 12-month period, covering parental leave.
We are in search of a dedicated Band 7 nurse, one who is both hardworking and self-motivated, to collaborate with the Respiratory team. Together, you will spearhead a Nurse Led, evidence-based integrated service, dedicated to the care and management of patients grappling with Tuberculosis and NTM infections. This role encompasses direct and indirect patient engagement, educational initiatives, and active participation in research studies, both within the acute trust and the broader community.
Our ideal candidate will deliver a superior standard of care to adults and staff in Preston, Chorley, and the surrounding areas facing suspected, latent, and active TB. Autonomously managing a caseload, you will also play a pivotal role in supporting and collaborating closely with local community TB teams. This involves offering screening, contact tracing advice, and support, as well as facilitating appropriate referrals. Main duties of the job
This post requires a dynamic and enthusiastic person with excellent communication skills, and at least 12 months post qualifying experience in any medical setting, although preferably respiratory. You will need a strong desire for professional development and commitment to the job.
You will be able to assist in interpreting clinical results, have an awareness of current professional and research practice issues, BTS and NICE guidance and be willing to undertake research and audit within the healthcare setting. You will benefit from a personal development programme to broaden knowledge and skills in return for commitment to delivering a seamless care pathway to the TB patients.
