Main duties of the job
Active involvement in continuing professional development is a key requirement, alongside a commitment to promote clinical governance and evidence based practice and therefore we encourage you to take advantage of available opportunities to develop your practice. Alongside trust training we also have a comprehensive core therapy cognitive and perceptual training programme and therapeutic moving and handling training. We invite in external companies/individuals to support with training as well as our own fantastic team members putting on training sessions or talks.
On each rotation you will be fully supported by having regular supervision and in-service training specific to that area as well as team meetings to keep up to date with any important information, to share ideas and to work on service developments.
There is also a band 6 Occupational Therapy forum that meets each month that provides a space for discussion with your peers as well as presentations and training from a range of speakers.
Like all NHS trusts we recognise the need for enhanced provision and Core Therapies are looking to move towards 7 day working. As such you'll be expected to support this model of care when it is implemented.

You'll have access to varied development opportunities, learn new skills, meet fab people & do things you'd never have done. You'll learn about working in a hospital, interacting with people from all different roles to build skills & enhance your career path.
You'll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things. Everything we do centres around patient care which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of
