The role will involve being the perfect role model and leader across Day & night rotation to support the team and maintain an effective ward.

Your role will be to support the Ward Manager, to ensure the provision of excellent care and compassion for all patients and visitors to the ward. You will be responsible for ensuring the planning, delivery and evaluation of care to meet the personalised health and wellbeing care needs of patients, whilst providing leadership and direction to the team. You will also be responsible for completing appraisals, maintaining training rates and supporting our Team to develop to their full potential.We really can deal with everything and anything so the opportunities for you to enhance your leadership skills, knowledge and experience are second to none. Main duties of the job
You will have the ability to support the ward manager in providing a team approach in achieving high standards of safe care and constant support for junior staff and students in practice.
You must have experience of working as band 5 or 6 and be able to demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills in caring for acutely ill patients. You will be a clinical role model and have a willingness to develop the team as well as your own professional growth.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse or Matron in ensuring the provision of excellent care with compassion for the patients, relatives and visitors who are cared for within or by the ward, department, service or team.
- Ensure a high standard of nursing is delivered by self and others based on assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care to meet patients needs in accordance with agreed local and National standards and evidence based guidelines.
- Assist and support the Ward Manager in the safe, effective management of the area including management of personnel, facilities and the associated systems and processes
- Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, team and the organisation
- Be responsible for the delivery and co-ordination of care, through appropriate professional practice, delegation and supervision of duties carried out by junior staff
- Set, monitor and maintain standards of care to improve the patient experience and outcome of care
- Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Communicate all relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations as required, to ensure seamless care.
- Promote provision of patient education and health promotion
- Promote equality in care and practice by recognising, respecting and meeting the needs and choices of individuals.
