Main duties of the job
You will work at Royal Preston and Chorley and South Ribble District Hospital sites, being part of a multidisciplinary team within the Head and Neck Speciality Business Unit.
You will be expected to be involved in treatments requiring an inter-disciplinary team approach. Orthognathic surgery is carried out at Royal Preston Hospital, with multi-disciplinary clinics held jointly with the Consultant Maxillo-facial Surgeon, the Consultants in Orthodontics and the Consultants in Restorative Dentistry.
There is an established Local Orthodontic Clinical Network for Lancashire and a number of orthodontic specialist practices in the local area.

Essential
- Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (GDC)
- On the GDC specialist list in Orthodontics
- Possession of a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST in Orthodontics
- Membership in Orthodontics or equivalent
- Successful completion of an SAC approved two-year minimum training programme in a Post-CCST Training Appointment in Orthodontics or within 6 months of completion of training, or equivalent which follows on from the pre-CCST training period of 3 years or equivalent
- ISFE (Orthodontics) or within 6 months of ISFE or equivalent before commencing
Desirable
- Fellowship in Dental Surgery or membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery, or equivalent
