Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and supportive neuropsychology service providing input across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will have the chance to develop skills working with a range of clinical groups with specialist supervision from a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist. An enthusiasm to learn and to develop, as well as excellent interpersonal skills for working with both psychology and multi-disciplinary colleagues, would be important for the role.
The neuropsychology service is a friendly and supportive team, which is part of the wider Clinical Health Psychology Service (CHPS) within Royal Preston Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To provide neuropsychology input within a specialised adult neuropsychology service as part of Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This will involve working with people with different neurological conditions, Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Functional Neurological Disorder (FND). This may involve working within inpatient settings, outpatient clinics, and working with groups of patients.
Provide highly specialist neuropsychological assessment, formulation, intervention, advice and consultation on patients' psychological and cognitive functioning to other health professionals, families and carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines.
To contribute to the monitoring, audit, evaluation and development of the service as directed by the Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist.

Essential
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology accredited by the HCPC (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 as accredited by the BPS).
- HCPC registered as a practitioner psychologist.
Desirable
- Qualification in supervision
- Evidence of peer reviewed publications, presentations at conferences, or similar contributions.
Knowledge & Experience
Essential
- Well developed highly specialised knowledge of the theory and practice of psychological models and therapies/interventions in clinical neuropsychology and health psychology.
- Doctoral level knowledge of clinical psychology theory and practice, assessment, psychological therapies and their application. Experience of two or more distinct psychological therapies.
