Job summary

We are delighted to offer within the Research & Innovation Department, working in Clinical Research as a Clinical Trials Administrator (CTA).

You will be working closely with the Cancer Research Nurses, inputting clinical data and assisting with the general running of clinical trials on a day to day basis.

With your help we can improve healthcarethrough research and innovation.

Main duties of the job

You will be able to apply an interest in science, to the practical tasks that support the safe and effective delivery of clinical trials.

Knowledge and understanding of NHS systems and clinical research is not essential, as you will be provided with training, but it is desirable. You will also need excellent computer skills to handle the multitude of electronic systems associated with clinical trials.

Great administration and communication skills are required too, as well as being able to prioritise your workload and work autonomously when required to.

Essential

  • Educated to NVQ 3 or equivalent standard
  • ECDL or equivalent computer experience in an office administration environment

Desirable

  • Science or health related degree
  • Microsoft Office certifications of any level (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Knowledge and Experience

  • Taking notes and recording information accurately
  • Experience of using databases
  • Experience of interpreting medical data

Desirable

  • Previous experience in research or supporting clinical trials
  • Experience of clinical trial data management and administration skills in a health services environment or in other administrative capacity
  • Understanding of Research Governance and related legislation and guidelines
