Job summary

Are you looking for a new challenge?

We are looking for a highly organised and experienced individual to join us as a Corporate Capacity Facilitator role within the Hospital capacity management team.

You will deal with the day to day flow within the hospital, managing referrals from ED, across site, Elective procedures, Repatriations and Tertiary referrals into the trust. Previous knowledge and experience of management on an operational scale is essential.

Main duties of the job

  • Accountability for the co-ordination of the elective and emergency admissions in accordance with the Trust Management Policy thereby ensuring the best quality of care of each patient.
  • Effective membership of the multi professional team to ensure that effective patient flow across the organisation is achieved.
  • Overall responsibility for all repatriation arrangements with other acute Trusts.
  • Management of private transport bookings
  • Responsibility for management of all administrative duties in the Patient Flow department.
  • Ensuring that services are continually improved and developed in line with best practice standar
  • Providing multiple daily updates to the Chief Executive, Chief Operating officer, Deputy Chief Operating officer and Medical Director.

  • ECDL or equivalent experience

Knowledge

  • Previous knowledge and understanding of overall trust capacity, managing expected and emergency demand with proactive management of patient flow
  • Evidence of understanding operational pressures
  • Experience of working in a structured operational environment
  • Experience and evidenceofanalysingand interpreting data
  • Experienceof working with multi-disciplinary teams
  • Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and patient confidentiality requirement

Desirable

  • Experience of working within an acute Trust
  • An understanding of NHS policy and procedure
  • Experience of Operation Improvement Methodologies
  • Experience in the use of NHS Patient Repatriation systems , PTS bookings and NWAS ambulance systems
