As well as leading the eLearning Team the role also offers you the opportunity to get involved with the implementation of immersive technologies across Lancashire, so you can be at the forefront of testing out new ways for colleagues to learn.

This is a split role, hosted by Lancashire Teaching Hospitals, that combines the positions of Senior eLearning Developer (SeLD) and Immersive Learning Technology Officer (ILTO). The split will be 22.5hrs as SeLD and 15hrs as ILTO, but this can be flexible to meet demands where appropriate.

Main duties of the job

Senior eLearning Developer

  • Determine the future adoption and direction of online educational learning technologies across the organisation.
  • Take a lead role in managing existing and implementing new educational technologies.
  • Line manage the eLearning Developers.
  • Design and develop a range of blended learning modules.
  • Support the administration and evolution of the Trust's online learning management system.

Immersive Learning Technology Officer

  • Successfully deploy and promote early adoption of new immersive learning technologies to support the NHSE TEL Speciality Training Gaps (STG) Recovery project.
  • Work with Extended Reality (XR) technologies made available to local education providers through loan, lease or purchase arrangements from the national NHSE TEL Simulation and Immersive Learning Technologies portfolio.
  • Support the virtual XR Hub, a collection of XR products for regional/local use based on needs and infrastructure.

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English
  • Media/IT related degree (or equivalent experience)
  • E-learning related qualification e.g. Certificate in Online Learning, Certified e-Learning Professional
  • Working knowledge of XR and IT hardware, operating systems and end-user productivity tools
  • Familiarity with on-line technical and support resources
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification at Certificate in Education level (or equivalent experience) e.g. PGCE
  • Digital media qualification
  • Qualified in project management techniques
  • 3 years experience of XR and IT hardware, operating systems and end-user productivity tools
