Job summary

We are looking for a band 6 Nurse for our Cardiac Unit.

This is a ten bed cardiology unit where we care for patients with acute and chronic cardiac conditions. These can include patients with acute myocardial infarctions, patients with acute and chronic heart failure and cardiac arrhythmia's amongst others.

We have good links with Blackpool Victoria Hospital and work alongside the Coronary Care Unit and Cardiac Catheter Lab at Royal Preston Hospital. This involves preparing patient's for invasive procedures such as cardiac angiograms and permanent pacemakers.

The unit prides itself in good staff retention and encourages staff development through education. We are a friendly and supportive team looking for someone with the same qualities. The cardiac unit is a gold star accredited unit that highlights the excellent patient care that is provided and excellent team working.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and highly motivated nurse with a good knowledge of cardiology medicine to join our existing team.

You must have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills in order to maintain and develop the team further. In addition to direct patient care the role will involve supporting unit staff.

This is a great opportunity to broaden your skills and knowledge and gain further experience within a specialised treatment.

As an individual, you will need to be able to maintain a focus on patients at all times, and provide a positive motivated attitude.
