Job summary

You will be responsible for providing management support to patient services within the division, working with National Quality Indicators, including being responsible for supporting and managing the achievement of the 18-week referral to treatment targets/urgent vascular targets, including taking appropriate actions to ensure that the trust targets are being met for the Clinical Business Unit (CBU).

You will assist in the effective collection and recording of the patient pathways across the unit and will support all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients' pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment and/or discharge. This will include discussions with key members of the team including waiting list, outpatient clerks, medical secretaries, medical and nursing staff where appropriate in order to achieve patient care within the 18 week target and urgent pathway targets.

You will be expected to produce weekly reports/updates for internal meetings on the 18 week/urgent pathway position. You are expected to actively monitor the 18 week and urgent pathway risks, including any over 18 week patients, giving regular updates of actions being taken, and actively resolve issues. You will be responsible for the evaluation of service requirements and development of capacity and demand models, as well as managing and developing staff.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dedicated and committed member to join the team to deliver excellent service across Lancashire.

You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with clinicians, mangers, and others within the Speciality Business Unit and with Trust wide service users. In the role, you'll work across the Speciality Business Unit and the Trust and contribute to the delivery of performance targets for services as appropriate.

  • Experience in a range of work procedures pertaining to Speciality Business Unit administration including electronic patient record, patient administration systems, patient tracking lists, performance, management of waiting list, EWTD etc.
  • Knowledge of NHS policies and National targets including cancer 2 week rules and 31/62 day rules, inpatient and outpatients targets, 18 week target.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and challenging deadlines

Desirable

  • Performance management and use of PTL's for monitoring against access targets.
